About Ocean View Press

Who We Are:

Ocean View Press is an independently owned and operated publishing company based in Boston, Massachusetts. We were founded in the summer of 1996 as a distribution outlet for poetry publications. Since then, we have grown into a popular outlet for all things artistic. Our free-content web magazine has been a favorite among our visitors since it was introduced in 2003 and our staff writers are consistent in their efforts to bring you enjoyable articles.

Our staff here at Ocean View Press is a collective of creative individuals with diverse interests and backgrounds. What began as a revolving door policy has grown into a family of like-minded writers who's common goal is to entertain, educate and perhaps even distract you from your everyday life, if only for a few moments a day.

F.A.Q.

Q-Are you accepting submissions for manuscripts?

A- Sorry, but we are not. Currently, manuscript submissions are by invitation only.

Q- Do you publish books?

A- Yes, periodically. Unlike the larger publishers, we aren't interested in churning out book after book on a production line. When we have something that we feel passionate about in our hands, we will release it.

Q- Will you be releasing anything soon?

A- Yes, we just announced a new roster of authors and we are working closely with them on their manuscripts. Stay tuned.

Q- I notice you don't run advertisements on your website. Why is this?

A- Simple, because we hate advertisements and we know you do to. It seems pointless to clutter up our pages with worthless ads for the sake of a few cents in the end. Plus, it makes for an unenjoyable experience for you the reader when you are browsing through our articles.

Q- So how do you keep your site running without advertising revenue?

A- 100 percent on our own. At Ocean View Press, our slogan is "Stay Independent." We believe this starts right here with us, so we don't believe in reaching out to you for hand outs. The only ads you will ever see on our website are our own (writers personal websites, books, music, etc..) You will never see google ads or flash banners for outside products.

Q- What does Ocean View Press sell?

A- Anything from books, music, paintings,....basically anything that comes from our contributors and authors. Things we will never push on you are coffee mugs, dog t-shirts, frisbees, mouse pads or anything else that we consider insulting to our visitors. This is a haven for artists, not a flea market.

Q- May I contribute to Ocean View Press?

A- Sure, just send us an email from our contact page and tell us what you have or how you would like to contribute your talents to us.
